A Hard and Heavy ThingHuge congrats to Matthew J. Hefti on making National Reading Group Month’s Great Group Reads list!

The Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) launched National Reading Group Month (NRGM) to further its mission to promote reading, a love of books, and women’s careers in publishing and allied fields. The oldest continuously running women’s literary organization in the country, WNBA was founded in 1917. For the past 90 years, it has united women—and now men—from every corner of the book world: writers, editors, librarians, bookstore owners, avid readers, and others.

Says NRGM about Hefti’s A HARD AND HEAVY THING: “After 9/11, Levi and Nick go off to war together to fight, eventually coming home irreversibly changed. A difficult and important look at the emotional impact of war on the men who fight and the suffering they continue to face at home, this novel of shifting perspectives is a sensitive depiction of war, friendship, patriotism, PTSD, and guilt.”

We’re thrilled to see this powerful debut on the list. Read more about A HARD AND HEAVY THING here.
